Minister himself checks buses

Bhopal, Feb 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput conducted a surprise inspection of 24 public transport buses including school vehicles in the state capital early Friday and apprised himself vis-a-vis safety standards being observed by drivers.
The politician took action against 11 operators found guilty of not adhering to standards and cautioned them that non-compliance would result in cancellation of permits. Reckless drivers’ licenses shall also be scrapped, an official release said.
“The dispensation is making ceaseless endeavours for providing safe conveyance to the populace. Instructions were issued to launch a continuous checking campaign. Drivers’ fitness will also be considered and training imparted for driving under new rules. A dress code is being implemented,” Mr Rajput said.
