Mild tremor in Satara & Sangli

Sangli, Oct 24 (UNI) A mild tremor of different intensity was felt in Koyana dam area of Satara district and in Warna valley of Sangli district on Sunday.
A tremor of 3.9 on the Richter scale was experienced around Koyana dam while of 2.9 Richter scale was felt in Warna valley late in afternoon at 1707 hours, official sources said.
The epicentre of the tremors was 28 kms away from Koyana dam and 12 kms from Warna valley, respectively, and at depth of 15 kms.
As a result, shockwaves were experienced at Koyana, Parab, Karad, Pofli villages in Satara district and Chiplun in Ratnagiri district.
However, there was no report of casualties or damage to property at both the places, sources added.
