Migrants add misery as COVID count in J'khand reaches 350

Ranchi, May 23 (UNI) The return of migrants in droves is rapidly increasing the Corona count in the state as on Saturday, a total of 20 people spread across four districts of the state tested positive for Coronavirus following which the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has increased to 350.
During the day the state also officially recorded its fourth death caused due to Coronavirus as a 39 year migrant labourer who had died at the isolation ward of Sadar Hospital on Thursday tested positive for Coronavirus on Saturday.
On Saturday a maximum of 11 people tested positive in Koderma out of which 9 hailed from Jainagar block while 1 was detected positive from Koderma block, 4 persons in Simdega including couple of male and females who had returned from Maharashtra have tested positive for Coronavirus. These four people hail from Kurdeg, Jaldega and Kolibera blocks.
In Jamshedpur 3 cases have been detected including 2 from Patmada and 1 from Maango area while 2 cases including a pregnant woman from Harmu who is already admitted in isolation ward of RIMS and 1 from Angada block tested positive for Coronavirus.
So far Coronavirus patients have been detected in 21 districts out of 24 districts in Jharkhand and no cases have been detected so far in Khunti, Sahebganj and Pakur.
The samples are being currently tested in the state at four government facilities including MGM Jamshedpur, RIMS Ranchi, PMCH Dhanbad and Itki Arogyashala Ranchi while samples are also being tested in 5 private labs in the state.

“With ceaseless toil on part of our dauntless corona warriors and the populace’s support, we have succeeded in bringing the pathogen under control within the state. However, being vigilant and cautious is still imperative. For preventing infection, we shall have to uncompromisingly adhere to the ‘Modi mantra’ of social distancing, utilisation of masks, repeated hand-washing and not spitting in public places. Only then will we vanquish the virus,” the seasoned politician outlined while addressing the people via Doordarshan.

18 new cases in Himachal; Tally mounts to 332
