New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) Ministry of Home Affairs suspended Jammu and Kashmir cadre IPS officer of 2000 batch Basant Rath for alleged instances gross misconduct and misbehavior.
In an order issued by the MHA on Tuesday evening and served to the said officer on Wednesday said, “J&K IPS officer Basant Rath has been suspended with immediate effect, in connection with repeated instances of gross misconduct and misbehaviour, which have been brought to the notice of the government”.
The order further said that during the period of his suspension he will remain at Jammu and he not leave the said Headquarters without obtaining the permission of Jammu and Kashmir Police DGP.
