New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) Ministry of Home Affairs today sought a report from Indian Intelligence agencies IB and R&AW, on the issue of giving political asylum to Balooch leader Brahamdagh Bugti in India. However, sources in the Home Ministry have said that as of now, no decision had been taken in this regard and the government was looking on every aspect of the issue. Mr Bugti, who has been living in Switzerland, has approached the Indian Embassy in Geneva recently seeking asylum in India, expecting a positive response from New Delhi. Mr Bugti had recently praised Prime Minister Narendera Modi for raising issue of human rights violation in Balochistan on several occasions. Yesterday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has also raised the issue of Balochistan in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Hailing Ms Swaraj's response to Pakistan at UNGA on human rights violations in Balochistan, Mr Bugti said 'This is a very good move and we expect that India will keep raising this issue, because India is that democratic country and responsible country, which undertakes its responsibility with sincerity.' Meanwhile, Pakistan has warned India that by granting asylum to Brahamdagh Bugti, it would become an 'official sponsor of terrorism'. Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif tweeted, 'India granting asylum to Bugti will amount to harbouring a terrorist by a state; thus India becoming official sponsor of terrorism.' Mr Bugti is the President and founder President of Baloch Republican Party and the grandson of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, a Baloch nationalist leader, who was killed by the Pakistan Army in 2006.
