New Delhi, Sept 11 (UNI) Amid intelligence reports that the Maoists are re-calibrating themselves in Baster area to target the forthcoming assembly election in three states, the CRPF is deploying seven more battalions in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh to reinforce the presence of security forces.
A report sent to Home Ministry by the intelligence agencies states that Maoists have plans to target the forthcoming Assembly elections in the Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
This move comes after Union Home Ministry’s order dated August 14 directing the CRPF for the deployment of seven battalions comprising 7000 personnel in Chhattisgarh, following a request from the State Government.
