MHA approves new tourist and trekking routes in Ladakh

New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) Buoyed by the success of many tourism initiatives under the Prime Minister’s development package, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday approved new tourist and trekking routes in Ladakh region, proposed by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
"This is another leap by proposing to open up more tourist and trekking routes in the region of Ladakh with the aim of recapturing the glory, rich culture and beauty of the region to give a fillip to the tourism sector and enhancing the economic activity in the Ladakh region, better known as ‘Land of High Passes," a Home Ministry release said.
The new tourist routes are Merak-Lema Bend, Chushul-Kartsangla–Mahe,
