Metro projects for Srinagar, Jammu to be taken up under Japanese ODA

Srinagar, Jul 20 (UNI) The government today said metro projects would be taken up in the twin capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu under multilateral funding from Japanese Official Developmental Assistance (ODA) as a part of rapid transit proposed by reputed development consultancy RITES.
An official spokesperson here today said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today chaired a high-level meeting, to review the progress of projects being executed by the Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (JKERA).
He said the Housing and Urban Development Department will act as the nodal department for firming up the metro projects for two capital cities in consultation with the RITES.
