Messi scores in Hyderabad, meets Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (UNI) The Saturday evening at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium belonged to football’s living legend, Lionel Messi. After a chaotic start in Kolkata earlier in the day, the Hyderabad leg of the GOAT Tour of India delivered exactly what fans had been dreaming of: Messi on the field, live and in full flow.
As the stadium filled with families, children, and die-hard football enthusiasts, the excitement was palpable. And when Messi stepped onto the pitch, accompanied by his Inter Miami teammates Rodrigo De Paul and Luis Suarez, the crowd erupted in cheers. Adding a special political touch to the event, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was also present and greeted Messi warmly. In a memorable gesture, Messi presented Rahul Gandhi with an Argentina football jersey as a memento, highlighting the blend of sports and diplomacy.
The most electrifying moment came during a 7v7 exhibition match, where Messi shared the field not only with De Paul and Suarez but also with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and a group of enthusiastic local children. Messi’s skill was on full display during rondos, a popular passing drill, as he effortlessly weaved through players, executing precise touches and playful yet masterful passes. The children’s wide-eyed attempts to match his speed and finesse created moments of joy and laughter across the stadium.
