Mercury dips marginally across HP, tribal areas freeze below zero

Shimla, Nov 11 (UNI) The cold tightened its grip over Himachal Pradesh as the state recorded a marginal fall in minimum temperatures ranging between 0.5°C to 1.5°C during the past 24 hours, the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, reported on Tuesday.
The state experienced dry weather, but chilly nights prevailed with mercury dipping in most districts and sub-zero conditions persisting in tribal areas.
Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 8.4°C, slipping by 0.4 degrees, while Manali shivered at 3.7°C. The lowest temperature in the state was reported from Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti at –3.1°C, followed by Tabo (–2.5°C) and Keylong (–2.2°C). Kalpa in Kinnaur district froze at 0°C, while Reckong Peo and Narkanda recorded 3.2°C and 3.9°C, respectively.
