New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) Melania Trump, the first lady of United States, will meet students in a government school in Delhi during her and US President Donald Trump's visit to India next week, sources said on Thursday.
The Trumps are scheduled to watch the 'happiness curriculum' introduced by the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government during their two-day visit starting from February 24.
According to sources, Ms Melania will meet the children on February 25 and spend about an hour with them at a government school in South Delhi.
The first family of US will be accompanied by Mr Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
This is the first time that the first woman of America will visit India meeting school students in Delhi.
In 2010, when the then US President Barack Obama visited India, his wife Michelle Obama met children at an NGO in Mumbai. Ms Michelle also danced and sang with the children and her pictures with them went viral that time.
The happiness curriculum, a special 45-minutes session for students studying in classes 1-8 at Delhi government schools aim to develop a holistic outlook and perspective on life through storytelling, meditation and question and answer sessions. The AAP government introduced the curriculum in July 2018.
