New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) Reacting to reports of Mehul Choksi, accused in PNB fraud case, surrendering his passport to the Indian High Commission in Guyana, the Congress on Monday said that it was a reflection of the failed promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the time of Lok Sabha elections.
Talking to reporters here, AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said,’’the report that Mehul Choksi, accused in PNB fraud case, has surrendered his passport to the Indian High Commission in Guyana, shows that he has decided never to return to India.’’
Reacting to the report, the Congress said,’’Once again PM Modi’s failed promises come to light. A year has passed since the PNB scam broke out and now Mehul 'Bhai' Choksi has surrendered his Indian passport - making it doubly hard for extradition to take place.’’
