Mehbooba Mufti urges special Assembly Session over Mehraj Malik’s detention

Srinagar, Sep 13 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti today urged Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather to convene a special Assembly session to condemn the Public Safety Act (PSA) invoked against Doda MLA Mehraj Malik and to pass a resolution pressing for his release.
She said such a resolution would put pressure on the Central Government to release Malik and protect other legislators from similar targeting in the future.
Talking to reporters, Mehbooba said that over the past few days there has only been condemnation over Malik’s arrest.
