New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Trains running between Katra and Jammu will soon have glass top coaches to enable passengers to enjoy the scenic beauty of the state. The proposal for the specially designed coaches was agreed by the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal when the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met him here on Tuesday. During the meeting the Chief Minister also discussed about the various railway projects going on in the state. The Railway Minister assured Ms Mufti that the Katra-Banihal railway track would be completed by 2020.Ms Mufti in a series of tweets said, “Met @PiyushGoyal Ji to discuss various issues regarding railway projects in J&K. He assured completion of Katra-Banihal railway track by 2020”. “Introduction of glass top coaches between Katra-Jammu and specially designed coaches between Banihal-Baramulla to promote tourism, was also agreed upon.Moreover, Ms Mufti also discussed of having cold storage rail containers for transporting the world famous Kashmir apples to different parts of the country. "Highlighted the need for cold storage rail containers for transporting apples to different parts of country,” she said.Notably, the Chief Minister had suggested of having glass top railway coaches in trains so that passengers could enjoy the natural scenic beauty of the state onboard. Earlier Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha had also said that the rail-link from Banihal to Katra which would connect Kashmir with the rest of the country would be completed by 2020.
