Mehbooba hits out at GoI for not approaching higher courts in riot, other cases

Srinagar, Jul 20 (UNI) Hitting out at the Centre for not approaching higher courts in cases like Muzaffarnagar riots, Samjhauta Express, former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday alleged that this makes it clear that the accused are being given a free run.
''Can’t keep snakes in your backyard expecting them to only bite the neighbours,'' Ms Mehbooba, who is the president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said.
''GOIs decision to not approach higher courts in cases like Muzaffarnagar riots, Samjhauta express makes it clear that accused are being given a free run. Regardless of their religion they deserve punishment. Can’t keep snakes in your backyard expecting them to only bite the neighbours,” Ms Mehbooba wrote on wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
