Mehak, Zeel and Udayan enter semi-finals

Chandigarh, Jan 7 (UNI) Indians have mixed luck in the ITF Junior Circuit Grade III Tennis Tournament at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today. In the girls singles top seed Mahak Jain moved into the semi finals by defeating sixth seed Komola Umarova of Uzbekistan. Mahak played some consistent ground strokes to beat hard hitting Komola.
Mahak took the first set very comfortably 6-1. In the second set Komola came back strongly to take a 5-2 lead but Mahak rallied and brought back every attacking shot made by her opponent and forced Komola to make errors. Mahak won second set in tie break by conceding only one point.
Third seed Zeel Desai also in a marathon three setter beat Chienes fifth seed Yanni Liu. Zeel after losing first set in tie breaker came back strongly to win next two sets 6-4, 6-3. Fourth seed Jodie Anna faced resistance from eighth seed Nidhi Surapaneni. Jodie won final set without losing a game. In another match Jana Bojovik of Serbia was given tough fight by Sabhayata Nihalini of India. Jana won the first set 6-1 but Sabhayata made some good variation to win next set 6-2 but in final set Jana was more consistent and won final set 6-4.
