Meghalaya to ramp up COVID-19 management

Shillong, Sep 20 (UNI) With COVID-19 cases rising by the day, the Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare department has decided to ramp effort for more effective management of the emerging situation, including increasing testing facilities and corona care centres.
“We will have to ramp up more quarantine centres and Corona Care Centres, and also need to increase testing facilities in the state with the spurt in COVID-19 cases,” Health Minister, Alexander Laloo Hek said.
Presently the swab samples are being tested at Pasture Institute, North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Pasteur Institute and Nazareth Hospital, all in Shillong, besides the Civil Hospital at Tura, West Garo Hills.
