Meghalaya to bear travel expenses of returnees till June 10

Shillong, Jun 8 (UNI) Stranded residents of Meghalaya, who are returning to the State will bear travel expenses till June 10 after which returnees will have to pay for their travelling in government run vehicles, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed on Monday.
So far, 13,990 residents of Meghalaya, who had been stranded in other parts of the country, re-entered the state till Monday.
“The number of people who had registered to come home was 10,288 and was eligible for free transportation. However, we have gone beyond this number for their safety, but need to stop somewhere,” Tynsong said.
