Meghalaya records 22 new COVID-19 cases, one more death

Shillong, Dec 3 (UNI) Meghalaya recorded 22 new COVID-19 positive cases, which added up to 296 active cases and the death due to the viral infection of one person, who was not vaccinated against the virus in the West Jaintia Hills district, increasing the number of fatalities due to the viral disease to 1475 on Friday, health officials said.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the recovery of 21 more COVID-19 inflicted persons surged the number of recovered cases to 82785 in the state, which has so far registered 84556 confirmed COVID-19 cases, included 17 in East Khasi Hills district, two in East Garo Hills district and one each in West Garo Hills district, West Jaintia Hills district and West Khasi Hills district.
The East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong is the most pandemic-hit district with 266 active COVID-19 cases and 1001 deaths due to the viral infection, even as the numbers of active cases in other districts have been on a gradual decline.
