Meghalaya lowest performing state in PMEGP scheme

Shillong , Feb 22 (UNI) Meghalaya is the lowest performing state in implementing Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme with an abysmal figure of 8 per cent approximately in previous financial year of 2017-18, an official said on Friday.
Despite several efforts made by agencies, the progress of the scheme was 8 per cent approximately in previous financial year 2017-18, which is a cause of great concern, Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) officials said.
In fact, the issue was also deliberated in length in the state level monitoring committee (SLMC) meeting held on July 16, last year and also during review of the PMEGP scheme and state level PMEGP workshop held on January 18.
