Meghalaya legislators holding post parliamentary secretaries will not be disqualified : Sangma

Shillong, Jun 23 (UNI) Legislators holding the post of parliamentary secretaries in the state would not face disqualification since their rank was equated to “minister of state” only for perks and facilities, Meghalaya Chief minister Mukul Sangma said yesterday.
However, according to the “rules of procedure and conduct of business in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly”, “minister means a member of the council of ministers, a minister of state, a deputy minister or a parliamentary secretary”.
“Equating the rank of parliamentary secretaries to “minister of state” was only for perks and facilities,” Dr Sangma told reporters.
There is no row at position 0.
