Meghalaya has clear protocols to contain spread of COVID-19 : Sangma

Shillong, Aug 15 (UNI) The COVID-19 curve continues to climb up in Meghalaya with 64 more persons tested positive for the viral infection, even as Chief Minister Conrad Sangma maintained that the government has clear protocols for containing the spread of the virus.
With 64 more persons, mostly civilians, tested positive for COVID-19 and 15 more patients have recovered from the viral infection, the overall active cases and recoveries have climbed up to 690 and 596 respectively as on Saturday.
In his customary Independence Day speech at Polo Grounds here, Chief Minister Sangma said, "Meghalaya, and all of its people have responded to the COVID crisis with courage and dignity. We have demonstrated that a caring government and a sensitive society can together accomplish a great deal."
