Meghalaya government investing in youth

Shillong, Dec 10 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday said that his government is currently investing in the youth only 6 lakh people of the state are above the age of 45 and the rest are predominantly young.
As per the latest estimates, Meghalaya has a population of approx. 38.29 lakh people, of which over 74 percent i.e. 28.48 lakhs are under the age of 35 years.
Inaugurating the New Science Block and Extension of Classroom Block-B of Sngap Syiem College at Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills district, Sangma pressed on how education plays an important role to the development of each individual and ultimately their contribution to the state and the nation.
