Meghalaya constitutes Regional Committees to tackle boundary dispute with Assam

Shillong, Sep 26 (UNI) The Meghalaya government has constituted three regional committees to resolve boundary disputes in six remaining ‘areas of differences' with Assam, an official said on Monday.

Out of 12 ‘areas of differences’, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah resolving the differences in a 36.79 sq km area comprising six (Tarabari, Gizang, Hahim, Boklapara, Khanapara-Pilangkata and Ratacherra) in the first phase.

Repo rate hike an effort to rein in inflation: Mehul

Kolkata, Dec 7 (UNI) Mehul Mohanka, President of Indian Chamber of Commerce, on Wednesday said, "RBI raised the repo rate by 35 bps today to 6.25 per cent in an effort to rein in inflation which continues to be above desirable levels."
"RBI has broken the trend of hike by 5o bps in the last meets of the MPC. RBI’s balancing act is to let the economic growth rate unaffected which is positive for India for the year 2022-23 and is projected to be in the range of 6.5-7 per cent," according to different sources.
