Meet legends that won free India's first Gold

New Delhi, July 3 (UNI) After introducing us to Akshay Kumar as Tapan Das, the makers of 'Gold' have introduced the legends that made the nation proud by winning free India's first gold.

The teaser and trailer gave glimpses of the Hockey team lead by Akshay Kumar aka Tapan Das piquing the interests of the audience. Further giving insights into the characters, makers have unveiled character posters to introduce the team of India's hockey team in the 40s.

Along with the look, the makers also revealed a dialogue by the characters building more interest in the audience.

Starring Kunal Kapoor as Samrat, Amit Sadh as Raghubir Pratap Singh, Vineet Singh as Imtiaz and Sunny Kaushal as Himmat Singh, the posters help us know the characters better.

Filling everyone with immense pride for the nation, the trailer showcases the dream of Tapan Das played by Akshay Kumar to win Gold for free India for the first time.

Uniting the nation with one dream, the trailer captures the patriotic sense of the film.

'Gold' traces the journey of a man dreaming to win free India's first gold in Hockey. The sports drama starring Akshay takes the audience back in time to witness the struggle of a team to make the nation proud.

The upcoming sports drama 'Gold' starring Akshay Kumar releases this Independence Day marking 70 years of Free India's first gold medal at the 1948 Olympics.

India won its first Gold medal as an independent nation at the Olympics on August 12, 1948.

‘Gold’ not only marks the first ever association between Akshay Kumar and Excel Entertainment led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar but also is the debut of TV sensation Mouni Roy.

Also starring Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, Gold promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast.

The film has been shot across the UK and India, capturing the fascinating aspects of the pre-independent era.

'Gold' is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release on August 15.
