Medicine is mission, not profession: MP CM

Bhopal, Feb 21 (UNI) Doctors and health sector staff should alter their attitude so that state-of-the-art techniques plus resources are better utilised in people’s interest, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath averred on Friday and underlined that medicine must not be treated as a profession but ought to be accomplished in the spirit of social service.
Mr Nath was addressing therapeutic personnel in Chhindwara after dedicating to the public or laying foundation stones for 80 projects – including health centres and staff quarters – worth Rs 42.36 crore at the District infirmary complex, it was officially learnt.
“This district has emerged as a medicinal hub subsequent to establishment of a medical college. Its direct benefit is being extended even to residents of Seoni, Balaghat, Betul and Narsinghpur districts who no longer have to venture to metros for treatment,” he observed.
