Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jun 9 2016 11:30AM Mechanized boat partly gutted in fireRamanathapuram, Tamil Nadu Jun 9 (UNI) In a second fire accident within a week, a mechanized fishing trawler anchored near the Pamban North seashore was partly gutted in a fire around midnight last night. Police said the local fishermen managed to douse the fire before it could engulf the boat. However, the front portion of the boat was destroyed in the blaze resulting in a loss of Rs four lakh. The fire broke out around 2230 hrs.Though the exact reason for the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, the Coastal Security Group (CSG) of Tamil Nadu Marine Police is conducting a detailed probe. On the night of June 6, a 40-foot-long Country boat fitted with outboard engine, used for deep sea fishing was destroyed in a fire accident on Pamban north seashore. The marine police claimed that battery leakage could have triggered the fire.
