MCC financial fraud: Contract worker gets 2-yr jail

Mysuru, Nov 13 (UNI) A contractual worker of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has been awarded two-year imprisonment, following misappropriation of funds after collecting the tax amount from the building owners.
The accused was identified as N S Devaraju, who was working on a contract basis at MCC zonal office in 2008. He was found guilty by the court in 2009.
Devaraju had collected a tax amount of Rs 3.3 lakh from the owners of buildings in MCC ward 36 and 38 and did not deposit it in the bank. The then Commissioner of MCC had filed a complaint against him. Mandi police filed a charge sheet against the accused.
