Chandigarh, Feb 12 (UNI) The BJP received a jolt two days before the municipal bodies' elections in Punjab as four of its MC candidates from Mohali district quit the BJP and joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday.
BJP candidates Rajinder Kaur, Krishna Rani, Paramjeet Kaur and Bimla Rani joined the AAP in the presence of Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema, who welcomed them in the party fold.
On joining the AAP, the BJP leaders said they were impressed by the policies and public welfare work of Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government and decided to join the AAP.
On the occasion, AAP state general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat, senior party leaders Raj Lalli Gill, Govinder Mittal, among others were also present.
