Lucknow, Oct 22 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Friday slammed Congress for making lucrative promises to girls in Uttar Pradesh with aim to win assembly polls.
In a series of tweets on Friday, Mayawati said, "Congress has started making various kinds of lucrative promises like BJP and SP for electoral gimmicks, under which this party has talked about giving smartphones and scooties to the passed out girl students if the government is formed in UP. But the basic question is, who can trust them and how?.
"Congress has its government in Rajasthan and Punjab, but did they do anything there so that people can believe their words? If not, then how can people believe in them? This is the reason why there is a severe lack of public confidence in the claims and promises of parties like Congress and BJP," she said.
The BSP leader said, the Congress is having bad days due to "public deceit and disobedience etc."
"Similarly, due to these few special reasons, BJP's bad days have also started. BJP will also have to bear the brunt for the mountain of inflation, poverty and unemployment etc by showing the people dream of 'Acche Din'." she said.
