Maya's cash sop announcement on b'day irks BJP

Lucknow, Jan 15 (UNI) BSP President Mayawati's birthday announcement to distribute cash if she comes to power post Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll, has irked the BJP which alleged that it was a violation of the election model code of conduct. UP BJP General Secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said Ms Mayawati violated the election norms with her announcement of directly bribing the people with cash. "EC should take cognisance of the statement of Ms Mayawati and act accordingly," he maintained. The BJP leader also claimed that Ms Mayawati has also accepted in her speech that BSP can prevent BJP from coming to power which proves that she has admitted that the BJP was coming to power in UP with further admitting that the Centre has fulfilled one-fourth of the promises and foundation works of the projects were being laid.
