Prayagraj, Jan 23 (UNI) More than one crore devotees are expected to take a holy dip on Friday at Triveni Sangam on the occasion of the 'Mauni Amavasya'.
Keeping in view of the gigantic gathering at the banks of congregation of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati, the district administration has pulled up its socks to keep a strict vigil on the crowd.
An official in-charge of "Magh Mela", Rajnish Mishra, informed that the number of 'ghats' in the Sangam area have been increased from six to 18.
Traffic diversions have been implemented in Sangam area, city and other nearby places. Authorities have asked the policemen to behave courteously with devotees. Police and divers have been deployed at the 'ghats.'
Railway sources said that three dozen special trains, from different stations, will be run on Jan 24-25.
Four trains will run from Allahabad Junction to Kanpur, four for Mughalsarai and one train to Manikpur.
Last year, around 24 crore devotees took a holy dip on Ardh Kumbh, while around four crore devotees on Mauni Amavasya.
