Mattis, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Discuss Cooperation in Afghanistan - Pentagon

WASHINGTON, November 14 (Sputnik) US Secretary of Defense met with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Khalid Attiyah to discuss cooperation in Afghanistan and their countries’ bilateral military partnership, Department of Defense spokesperson Dana White said in a release.
"The leaders discussed a broad range of defense issues, including Qatari support to the NATO mission in Afghanistan and improvements to Al Udeid Air Base," the release said on Tuesday.
White explained in the release that Mattis and Attiyah, who also leads Qatar’s Ministry of Defense, reaffirmed the strategic security partnership between the United States and Qatar.
