New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) Dharampal Gulati, owner of the spices brand 'MDH', passed away on Thursday suffering a cardiac arrest.
Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, popularly known as the 'MDH uncle', 'Dadaji', was the founder of MDH (Mahshian Di Hatti), one of the biggest spices brand of India.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal condoled his death, saying that Gulati "spread the fragrance of the spices of the country to the whole world. "
Born in Sialkot, now in Pakistan, Gulati had come to post-Partition India, first to Amritsar and then moved to Delhi and set up MDH Masala factory in a plot in Kirti Nagar in the National Capital in 1959.
And, as they say, the rest is history. Today, MDH offers a wide range products and exports spices to many countries across the world such as the US, Japan and Canada.
Twitter condoled the death of the iconic personality and remembered his journey.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed grief over Gulati's death and said that he was an inspiring personality who dedicated his life for the welfare of the society.
