Mumbai, Jan 25(UNI) Country's largest passenger car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) today reported a rise of 47 percent rise of in its standalone net profit at Rs 1,744.50 crore for the quarter ended December 31 2016 as compared with Rs 1,183.00 crore in the same period previous year. "Growth in sales, increase in share of the company’s higher segment models, higher non-operating income and material cost reduction initiatives contributed to profit. This was partially offset by adverse foreign exchange movement and increase in commodity prices," the company said in a statement. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced the following Un-audited Standalone results for the quarter ended December 31, 2016: Total Income has increased from Rs 17,200.10 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015 to Rs 19,765 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016, up by 14.91 percent.
