New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) Maruti Suzuki on Monday launched the much awaited 2018 Ciaz with a starting price of Rs 8.19 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki claimed that the new engine christened ‘K15’ has 13 per cent more power (at 103 brake horsepower) and 6 per cent more torque (at 138 Newton metre) compared to the earlier generation.
Bookings for the car opened earlier this month for an amount of Rs 11,000, a company spokesperson said.
The 2018 Ciaz has an all-new 1.5-litre hybrid petrol engine at its heart, replacing the earlier 1.4 litre petrol.
The new hybrid technology which will come as standard across all petrol variants will have a Lithium-ion battery. “The new Lithium-ion battery is compact, designed for longer service life and contributes to improved fuel efficiency,” a Maruti Suzuki spokesperson said.
The new Ciaz promises to deliver a fuel efficiency of 21.56 km per litre in manual petrol variants and 28.09 km per litre in diesel.
