Martyrs remembered on Commemoration day

Vijayawada, Oct 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister N Chinarajappa and DGP N Sambasiva Rao paid tributes to the martyrs and remembered their supreme sacrifices at a programme held in the police parade ground on the occasion of Commemoration Day here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chinarajappa said that the government is implementing many schemes for the welfare of family members of martyred police personnel. He said that Rs.15 crore was earmarked for the welfare of police personnel and marriage halls were constructed for them in Anantapur and Kurnool.
The state government had allocated Rs.4.50 crore to conduct free medical check-ups to all police personnel in the state, he said.
