Martyred Army jawan to be cremated tomorrow in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Nov 22 (UNI) Last rites on martyred Havaldar Sangram Shivaji Patil, who was killed in Pakistan-trained terrorists attack early on Saturday morning in Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir, will be performed on a school ground on a specially erected dias at his native Nigve-Khalsa village in Karveer tehsil of the district on Monday.
Mr Patil, who was with 16th Maratha Battalion, was martyred while defending the country's border in Pakistan-trained terrorists attack in Rajouri district late on Saturday night.
After getting the sad news of the death of Mr Patil, a pall of gloom descended on the Nigve-Khalsa village, which observed a spontaneous 'bandh' with all business activities remaining closed from yesterday morning.
State Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif visited the Nigve-Khalsa village this evening and paid homage to martyr Sangram Patil and assured his family members that Sangram's dream of having a home in his native village would be realised by the Mushrif Foundation, which would give every help to construct the home, which is now under construction.
