Married couple among 4 booked for extortion in Thane

Thane, Sep 24 (UNI) Four people, including a married couple, have been charged by the city police on the charge of allegedly duping a practising gynaecologist from Mumbra town of Rs 2.90 lakh and trying
to extort Rs 5 lakh by threatening him.
An offence under sections 385, 420, 506(2), 507 read with 34 of Indian Penal Code as well section 66(A) of the IT Act has been registered by the Mumbra police station on Sunday night against the accused persons, police said on Monday and informed no arrest has been made so far in connection with the crime.
