Aurangabad, Nov 12 (UNI) As many as 715 farmers have committed suicide in Maharashtra's Marathwada region from January to October 2019, an official statement said on Tuesday.
Beed recorded highest number of suicides 158, followed by Aurangabad 107, Osmanabad 99, Nanded 93, Jalna 80, Latur78, Parbhani 72 and 28 in Hingoli district.
The farmers took the extreme step due to mounting debt, land infertility and drought.
