Aurangabad, Jan 7 (UNI) The eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region of Maharashtra reported 218 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, the health authorities informed on Thursday.
The region also recorded four deaths due from coronavirus during the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district recorded 82 cases and 2 deaths, followed by Osmanabad with 29 new cases and a single death, Jalna 13 cases and a single death, Nanded and Beed district 34 cases each, Latur 22 new cases, Hingoli 30 new cases and Parbhani 6 cases.
As per the official data, 4,382 more corona cases and 66 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state's cumulative tally to 19,54,553.
Meanwhile, 2,570 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,52,759 in the state so far.
With this, the state's recovery rate has now risen to 94.79 per cent and the death rate stands at 2.55 per cent.
According to the health officials, so far a total of 49,825 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state and 50,808 patients are currently undergoing treatment across the state.
