Marathi film industry celebrates 98th anniversary

Kolhapur, Dec 1 (UNI) Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal (All India Marathi Film Industry Corporation-AIMFIC) is celebrating its 98th anniversary on Friday.

On this day in 1919, 'Kalamaharshee' Baburao Painter started shooting of Marathi film at Khari corner area of the city.

Marathi film industry celebrates the day (December 1) every year to mark the beginning of Marathi film Industry in Kolhapur.

Kolhapur Mayor Hasina Faras and Shreemant Sayongeets Chhatrapati garlanded the statue of "Camera Manstamb" and effigy of late painter and late Anandrao Painter, promoter of Maharashtra Marathi

Film company, in the presence of Ms Vijaymala Painter, Ashok Painter, corporato Tejswini Ingavale .

On this occasion, a free medical camp is organised by AIMFIC, with cooperation of Kolhapur Medical Association, at Shivaji Mandir in Shivaji Peth, for the members of AIMFIC.

Mr Meghraj Raje-Bhosale, AIMFIC president, Dhanaji Yemkar, vice-president, Ranjeet Jadhav, secretary, other office-bearers and director board members of AIMFIC and other persons from Marathi film industries were present on this occasion.
