Maratha reservation movement misguided, says Dr Lakh

Jalna, Sep 7 (UNI) Maratha coordinator and reservation researcher Dr Sanjay Lakhe on Sunday alleged that activist Manoj Jarange Patil was working as per the agenda of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to create divisions between the Maratha community and others.
He claimed that Jarange was using the agitation to enhance his personal importance. “Jarange was already aware of the draft of the Hyderabad Gazetteer government order. The public reading and approval during the protest was only a formality,” Dr Lakhe said, adding that the activist’s knowledge of the difference between a reservation law, an Act and a government order was at a “kindergarten level.”
Dr Lakhe further alleged that Jarange was deliberately sidelining experts with constitutional knowledge on the Maratha reservation issue. “The Maratha reservation movement is like Lord Jagannath’s chariot, but Jarange has created an impression that he alone is pulling it,” he remarked.
