Mantra raj Paliwal plans to cross Rs 300 cr in revenue from retail biz

New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) After achieving success in the Cinema-Exhibition business across the country, Miraj Group, one of the country's leading business conglomerate, now aims to set its strong foothold in the retail industry in India by crossing Rs 300 crore revenue in the next five years, from existing Rs 10 crore, by setting up 300 supermarkets and 50 apparel stores and hypermart stores across the nation.

''Over the period, we have realised that there is a huge demand supply mismatch in the retail space of India's Tier II & Tier III cities. To bring a world class retail shopping culture in these cities, we started this venture, where people can get hygienic food at an affordable price,'' said Mantraraj Paliwal, Vice Chairman, Miraj Group.

His very first venture in retail by introducing a fashion retail chain in clothing segment under ‘Miraj Labels’ was well praised by the consumers and became a popular brand name in a very short span of time. The response has encouraged the young man to expand the reach outside the state. Now, he has chalked out a prompt plan for opening retail stores in other major cities of the country in the name of Miraj.

The Miraj group, which holds an ace-ranking in verticals such as real-estate, printing, packaging and film production and exhibition, has already made its presence felt in the retail business with the launch of ‘Miraj Level’ and ‘Miraj Supermarket Stores’ at Nathdwara and Udaipur in Rajasthan, few years back. And, now, Miraj is all set to expand its retail business reach in other cities of the country soon with its Vice Chairman, Mr Mantraraj Paliwal.

The group, which till 2010 was a regional player, has decided to run its retail business under the leadership of Mr Mantra Raj Paliwal, son of visionary leader Mr. Madan Paliwal-- now ready to expand its horizon of growth.
Mantra Raj believes in ‘power of innovative ideas in good faith’ and holds second line of command in family business as Vice Chairman. Under his leadership, Miraj Group is now all set to enter the retail business in a big way. Starting his career with his very own venture – Miraj Labels and Miraj Supermarket Stores at Nathdwara and Udaipur Rajasthan, Mantra Raj now sees a huge growth potential in the country.

In the retail industry of India that is expected to cross a trillion dollar market size by 2020, Miraj through its retail arm plans to chunk in a major pie in the next five years. With its new business vertical coupled with other businesses-- multiplex, retail chain and namkeen.
