Manpreet Badal’s brother in law files defamation suit against top Akali leaders

Bathinda, Dec 6 (UNI) Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal’s brother- in-law, Jaijeet Singh Jauhal alias Jojo filed a criminal complaint for defamation against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, former minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia, Akali leader Daljit Singh Cheema and PTC Managing Director Ravindra Narayan at a local district court on Thursday.
The complaint has been filed under sections 499/500/501/34 of the Indian penal code, owing to false imputations made by these Akali leaders against Jaijeet Singh Jauhal alias Jojo by interchangeably referring as 'JST Jojo Tax' that has defamed the complainant and has socially let him down.
Bathinda Judicial Magistrate, Vijay Dadwal heard the complaint filed against the SAD leaders and adjourned it for January 25 next year.
The suit for compensation of Rs 10 crore is under process and will be filed shortly.
