Mann censure govt's decision to abolish posts

Chandigarh, Jul 16 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab chief and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann on Thursday expressed his strong disapproval over state government's decision to abolish several posts in the Water Resources Department.
"Punjab was already facing major challenges due to the looming water crisis, while the government in the saddle was making suicidal decisions to add to the woes", the parliamentarian lambasted in a statement.
He said that the Cabinet has taken a decision to reduce the sanctioned posts in the Water Resources Department from 24,263 to 15,606 in the name of reorganisation, by merging it with the Mines, Geology Departments on the pretext of saving Rs 71 crore, which, he said was an anti-employment decision to allow perpetuating the contractual and outsource channels by imposing a cut on the government jobs, which reflected the bankruptcy of the Captain government.
