Manipur: RD&PR Minister asks elected members to work unitedly

Imphal, Jan 24 (UNI) Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Miniser Thongam Biswajit Singh today made a clarion call for all elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj System to work together for the development of the society.
The Minister was addressing an interaction programme with Zilla Parishad members and Pradhan on implementation of RD Schemes held at the Panchayat Bhawan, SIRD Complex, Porompat, Imphal East.
Regarding Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act implementation in the State, Biswajit said that for financial Year 2018-19, a target of 160 lakh PDs were set and the State could achieve around 73 percent. In 2019-20, a target of 160 lakh PDs were given, against which the State has achieved around 30 mandays on average by December 2019.

Kolkata, Sep 19 (UNI) Taking a swipe at the Mamata Banerjee Government following the
arrest of six terrorists associated with Pakistan-sponsored module of Al-Qaeda by NIA
from West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday said
the state has become home to illegal bomb making that has potential to unsettle democracy,
while BJP National General Secretary Rahul Sinha alleged that the state has become a
haven for militants.
