Manipur prepares for visit of Japanese PM Abe

Imphal, Dec 7 (UNI) Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is likely to visit Manipur on December 17 next to pay tribute to the Japanese soldiers killed during World War II in Manipur.
One of the greatest land battle of World War II was fought in Manipur and over 60,000 Japanese soldiers were feared to be killed in the battle.
Japanese government has constructed “Imphal Peace Memorial” at Maibam Lotpa Ching, Bishnupur district where a major battle took place.

Kolkata, Apr 18 (UNI) Thousands of poll personnel on Thursday began to move carrying all necessary gadgets, including the EVMs, to their respective polling stations as West Bengal geared up to have its first of the seven-phase voting in three contiguous districts of Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri in the northern part of the state, official sources said.
