Manipur Police conduct operations, arrest seven

Imphal, Jan 17 (UNI) Manipur Police and security forces carried out multiple operations across the state on Friday, leading to the arrest of several individuals involved in unlawful activities, seizure of contraband items, and destruction of large tracts of illicit poppy cultivation police said on Saturday.
Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of a banned outfit from Karang Maning Leikai under Keibul Lamjao Police Station in Bishnupur district. The arrest was made from the Thanga Chingang playground area under the same police station.
In another operation, police arrested another active cadre of a proscribed organisation from Phoijing Tera Makhong under Nambol Police Station in Bishnupur district. One mobile phone was seized from the arrestee. Security forces also arrested a woman associated with a banned group from her residence at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West district. Items seized from her possession included extortion money amounting to Rs 1 lakh, one mobile handset and one Aadhaar card.
