Manipur: Minister Letpao hands over rice to villagers

Imphal, May 25 (UNI) Water Resources (WR) and Youth Affairs & Sports (YAS) Letpao Haokip today distributed NFSA rice for free at various places of Chandel district. It was the the third phase of distribution of essential items to the people of Chandel district during this COVID-19 lockdown.
The minister distributed the rice at Mini-Secretariat, DC complex along with government officials. He further went to Sajik Tampak (Kana area) village, Chakpikarong, M.Munpi Sugnu area and distributed rice bags there . He assured the villagers/beneficiaries that he will bear the price of the 5 kg per head NFSA rice that were distributed. He added that he is still keeping his word of ensuring rice to every rice-consuming individual until the current COVID-19 pandemic lasts.
Letpao had earlier distributed rice and other essential commodities on two occasions since the outbreak of this pandemic.
